St. Adalbert

St. Adalbert, who lived between 956 and 997, descended from the house of Slavníkovci and he was the second Prague bishop. He died by martyrdom as a missionary to the northern Prussians. He was one of the national patrons and at the same time also the patron of Czech clergy. The statue shows him as the bishop with the crosier and the mitre. The chronogram of the Charles Bridge is placed on the lower part of the plinth.
